Vertex Pharmaceuticals at Fan Pier

McCusker-Gill was a key contributor in the construction of Parcels A and B at Fan Pier and also the fit out for Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ global headquarters. The two buildings are each 18 stories high and total 1.1 million combined square feet of laboratory, vivarium, research, and office space. The project included many critical path items, including vertical lab exhaust duct risers in sizes up to 25 feet long by 12 feet wide. McCusker-Gill expedited the construction schedule by preassembling these risers in 30 to 40 foot lengths and hoisted and installed them into the shafts with the on-site tower crane.
