McCusker-Gill was a major contributor in the construction of Liberty Mutual Insurance’s 23-story office tower at 157 Berkeley Street. The 795,000 square foot tower was an expansion of Liberty Mutual’s existing headquarters in Boston’s Back Bay. The building broke ground in 2010 and was a catalyst for the city’s resurgence from the Great Recession, putting 500 construction workers on the job and creating 600 new, full-time jobs. A glass bridge spanning Stuart Street connects the building to the Liberty Center and the company’s previous headquarters at 175 Berkeley St. Following the completion of the new facility, McCusker-Gill was contracted to perform a gut renovation and fit up of the adjacent building on Berkeley St.
